Past Success

Rachel’s Challenge – Managed the coordination of bringing the powerful Rachel’s Challenge enrichment program to over 8000 students and community members. Coordination of this endeavor included communicating the value of the program to administrators in the district, securing funding, and scheduling. This was the first time a program of this magnitude was brought to our eight secondary schools. The program has been highly successful, and clubs at each school have formed with hundreds of students motivated to see the mission of the Rachel’s Challenge program continue in their schools.

Rochester PTA Council Leadership Day – Coordinated training for PTA leaders at the 20 schools in Rochester Community Schools (RCS) school district, served as liaison between these leaders and district leaders, and provided opportunities for PTA officers and chairpersons to collaborate with leaders at other schools, sharing program ideas and achievements – always looking for ways to continually improve.

Rochester Area Neighborhood House Neighborhood Walks – Initiated, designed and developed the Neighborhood Walk community program to raise awareness, funds and materials for RANH. Currently in the pilot phase of this project, this program will involve and support several neighborhoods throughout the community as they host family-friendly, neighborhood walks benefiting the Rochester Area Neighborhood House.

Rochester Area Neighborhood House Junior Ambassador Program – Worked collaboratively with the RANH Executive Director and staff to create a unique youth leadership opportunity that benefits the youth in our community, the RANH organization, and ultimately and most importantly, the growing number of area families in need.

Rochester PTA Council Founder’s Day Annual Event – Created central graphic design theme for major annual events.  Produced all print pieces including event program, invitations, certificates, tickets, nametags, silent auction basket content cards, and correspondence cards.

Hugger Elementary – Created a dynamic, weekly electronic “Husky Howler” newsletter which won the Michigan PTSA Newsletter of the Year award.  Determined content, created headlines, wrote copy, edited, and published weekly to over 400 email recipients.  Designed and implemented new layout and student section.  Coordinated all activities with Web-based newsletter software provider.
